[h1][b]Hello, keepers![/b][/h1][p][/p][p]Every Graveyard Keeper needs a helping hand. Or two. Or twenty. Ideally, ones that don't ask for days off. In today's devlog, we're talking about your most loyal (and brainless) helpers — zombies! [/p][p][img src="{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/46076082/f3776bffdb6e7c9d257087003bc016ab79c1c450.gif"][/img][/p][p][/p][h1][b]First appearance.[/b][/h1][p][/p][p]Zombies were first introduced in the first DLC for the original [b]Graveyard Keeper[/b], once we realized there were just too many tasks to deal with at the graveyard. Our hero desperately needed helpers, and who could suit the Graveyard Keeper atmosphere better? [/p][p]Zombies were taught to assist keepers with various tasks, from quarrying stone to farming and alchemy.[/p][p][/p][p][img src="{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/46076082/bb2304b7000d6feea2f11fff6a3e5ef462a851b6.gif"][/img][/p][h1] [b]Zombies 2.0.[/b][/h1][p][/p][p]In [b]Graveyard Keeper 2[/b], we decided to give zombies more functions... and more work! After all, they don’t ask for food or payment, so why not [strike]ab[/strike]use them more? [/p][p][/p][p]Now they don’t just use regular workbenches... they can also efficiently operate semi-automatic machines in underground factories! Assuming very minimum working conditions are provided, of course.[/p][p][/p][p][img src="{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/46076082/a2c9d4c38b7af084a47c2edfbaccbdb5ba688793.gif"][/img][/p][p] Moreover, as a new Inquisitor, you’ll have to lead your army to battle in order to restore peace in the realm and rebuild The Town, and who could fight zombies better than other zombies... especially those equipped with the finest weapons and armor?[/p][p][/p][p]Naturally, different roles require specialization. Each zombie has its own skill progression... and perhaps even earns a name as a reward for ten years of loyal service.[/p][p][/p][p][img src="{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/46076082/448f24b3d8c0e2ff052510e94fd1abd2d5b26556.png"][/img][/p][p][/p][p]It should come as no surprise that the most corrupted zombies come from sinners.[/p][p][/p][p]In the original [b]Graveyard Keeper[/b], you tried your hardest to collect as many white skulls as possible... now you may find yourself doing the exact opposite. By making the townsfolk’s lives easier and more comfortable, you can secure a steady flow of sinners. And if they’re not corrupted enough during life, you can always take the most corrupted parts from different corpses and add some corruption embalming as the cherry on top. [/p][p][/p][p]The more corrupted a zombie is (red skulls), the better skills it can develop.[/p][p] [img src="{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/46076082/fcabc54b34d540a507b47f4d6a25b68ce0751add.gif"][/img][/p][p][/p][h1][b]Bad Zombies.[/b][/h1][p][/p][p]While we’ve already mentioned the Keeper’s smelly little helpers, there are other zombies in the game as well. These creatures terrorize The Town. They may look similar, but their manners are entirely different.[/p][p][/p][p]They are dark beings created from corrupted townsfolk through the use of sinister curses (allegedly).[/p][p][/p][p]Our zombies, on the other hand, are made with love and a pinch of science... mostly. Each one comes with a special mark identifying it as a Possession-Free Zombie. So you can even keep one at home safely.[/p][p][/p][p][img src="{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/46076082/e9bc3625f461308766025ac21558101ffbbecf29.gif"][/img][/p][p] [/p][h1][b]*Nerdy facts.[/b][/h1][p][/p][p]Originally, zombies appeared in pop culture as satire aimed at mass-consumption society. Some movies even took place in shopping malls overrun by zombies, just to make the point clearer.[/p][p][/p][p]That was a long time ago... society has since proven that consumption is nothing but pure good.[/p][p][/p][p]In [b]Graveyard Keeper 2[/b], we present zombies as fellow workers and generally decent chaps who have no choice but to gladly help Keeper restore prosperity to The Town.[/p][p][/p][hr][/hr][p][/p][p]That’s it for today![/p][p][/p][p]What would you like to hear about next?
