Read the body before building
Inspect the skull balance before committing materials to a grave. White skulls support positive grave quality, while red skulls limit how much decorations can help. A costly marker cannot fix a body whose underlying quality is unsuitable, so decide first whether the corpse belongs in the graveyard, needs treatment, or is more useful in another system.
Prepare the complete slot
A burial is more than placing the corpse. Plan the grave, access path and the marker or fence as one small project. Carry the full material set before starting so an unfinished plot does not block movement or remain at poor quality. Use modest decorations on early bodies and save expensive components for bodies that can actually benefit from them.
Improve the cause, not the symptom
If graveyard quality stalls, separate body quality from decoration quality. Autopsy or embalming changes the body; markers and fences change the grave. Upgrade the correct layer. Replacing every decoration is wasteful when the red-skull ceiling is the real problem, while treating a strong body is unnecessary when a broken fence is the only deficit.
Keep a replacement plan
Early graves are temporary infrastructure. Leave enough working space to replace components later and record which plots contain weaker bodies. When better corpse deliveries and treatments open, improve the worst plots first. This produces more graveyard quality per material than upgrading graves in visual order.
