Set the opening priorities

Treat the opening as one connected chain rather than a checklist of unrelated chores. Complete the first burial, learn where energy is recovered, establish the basic wood-processing loop and keep quest items separate from ordinary materials. The useful goal is not to clear every prompt immediately; it is to unlock reliable production while avoiding trips that consume a day without moving a dependency forward.

Build in dependency order

When several projects appear at once, work backward from the next hard gate. A station needs materials, those materials need a recipe or technology, and the technology may require points earned by a specific activity. Gather only the batch required for that gate, finish the station, then reassess. This prevents filling storage with components that cannot yet be used.

Move quests together

Group objectives by destination. Before leaving home, check whether the Town, Village or graveyard route can advance more than one conversation or hand-in. Keep a small reserve of common construction materials so a newly opened repair does not force a full return trip. If a requirement is unclear, leave it in the journal rather than spending rare items experimentally.

Transition to automation

The first zombie is a change in operating model, not merely another quest reward. Assign repetitive gathering or production first, confirm its inputs and output storage, and keep manual work for bottlenecks the worker cannot solve. Once a loop runs without intervention, redirect your own energy toward church, technology and Town objectives.
