Name the target catch
Do not travel merely to see what bites. Decide whether the trip serves food, a quest, a recipe or completion, then identify the location and bait associated with that target in the current version.
Prepare a full trip
Carry enough bait, recovery and free inventory space for the planned session. A long route with only a few attempts wastes more time than waiting one day to prepare a complete kit.
Separate catch chance from technique
A missed bite, a failed reel and the wrong fishing pool are different problems. Change only one factor when troubleshooting. Verify that the target can appear at the location before blaming timing or bait.
Record version-specific results
Community tables are useful route hints, but catches and bait behavior may change. Record the location, bait and observed catch in your save, especially for rare fish, and flag conflicts rather than overwriting one source with another.
